B&B is open to everyone so if you can swim 1.5km in the ocean why not come on down tomorrow and have a swim with us.
'Bold & Beautiful' is an informal group who meet out the front of Manly Life Saving Club and swim at 7am, 7 days a week from Manly to Shelly Beach and back. A 750m swim each way, hence 1.5km swim return !
We all wear hot pink 'Bold & Beautiful' swim caps. The 'Bold & Beautiful' head out from Manly, gather at the point, waiting for the "Let's Go" before venturing over to Shelly Beach where we wait for the last swimmer, wait for the "Let's Go", then depart for our return trip.
Please arrive by 6.40am on the morning of your first swim so we have time to sign you up, welcome you, take your photo and give you a pink cap. Our latex caps are given to you complementary, courtesy of Manly Paradise Apartments. If you would like a silicon cap however, they are $15.
Please note that it is not a formal event and we do not have any water safety. Everyone swims at their own risk at all times. So please ensure you only swim in conditions that you are confident in.
The swim is 750m each way, hence 1500m return.
We don't have a secure lock up area for belongings, so please bring the minimum with you.
You can always find a group of 'Bold & Beautiful' re-energising at a local cafe for coffee after the swim.

'Bold & Beautiful' holds two seasonal Badge Challenges:
- The 1st of June sees the start of the Winter Badge Challenge whereby swimmers must complete 20 swims over winter. The swims must be split across 7 different weeks in order to qualify. Those who qualify will receive their 'Cold & Beautiful' Badge for a small fee at a badge ceremony held in early Spring.
- Summer Badges comprise of a 6km and 10km Long Distance Swimmer Badge which continue on from the regular 7am swim on Saturday mornings. If that is too overwhelming, why not aim for our Triple Shelly Badge which involves 3 laps of the regular Manly to Shelly Beach return swim which can be completed any morning during summer. Those who qualify will receive their distance summer badges for a small fee at a badge ceremony held early Autumn.
